AISL Membership runs from September 1st-August 31st with dues at USD $25 annually.


**Coming in 2015-16 – -A new membership website and a two tier membership option.

The AISL Board voted at the April 2015 meeting to offer a two tier membership option.

AISL Membership will increase to $30.00 for 2015-16 school year for working librarians.

AISL Retired Librarians Membership:  $15.00

The new website will be available early August and will allow credit cards without going through Paypal. The schools represented will also automatically be added as personal memberships are renewed or joined.


We welcome our Canadian and International librarians, but due to the exchange rate please use a credit card and access “ADD TO CART” button below. $1 is automatically added to your dues to help defray the cost of fees with exchange and also PayPal charges.

Credit cards are accepted from all our members via PayPal if you find that more convenient than a paper check.  Please use the “ADD TO CART” button below. Please note a $1.00 service has been added to the invoice to help defray the processing fee if you choose to use a credit card.

We do not pro-rate due to the low annual rate but new memberships are welcome throughout the year. This is an individual and not an institution membership. We do not accept vendor memberships. You must be a current member to attend the Annual Conference and/or the Summer Institute.

Multiple librarians from the same school may be on one check or credit charge but all need an individual filled out membership form.

Membership includes:

  • Access to an active listserve linking independent school libraries across North America, complete with an archive to past discussions.
  • Access to an active wiki that is maintained by the independent school librarian members, who store documents relevant to best practices and have ongoing discussions and a comprehensive directory of members.

When making a decision about library philosophies, policies, products or services, it is invaluable to have immediate access to so much expertise.

Attending the annual conference is an added benefit of membership; check  Annual Conference for the list of upcoming conference locations. Registration fees are approximately USD $350 and include most meals and all transportation to participating schools, tours, the Banquet & Skip Anthony Lecture, and other events.
